Chalk Lettering by Scott Biersack

I like seeing the process of creating typography, where everyone has a different technique and structure to build the type on. The use of chalk gives a really nice texture to the work and from far back it gives it an almost metal appearance, the mixure of graphic image with the typography is similar to my drawing style and with chalk adds a somewhat old fashioned style to a modern piece of work.
The Carpe Diem work incorporates pattern with the type with the pattern mimicking the swirls of the lettering which frame the piece. Framing the work in a circle rather than a square shape makes it easier to draw the eye inwards on the design, the way he placed the work creates a constant swirling with the eyes because the viewer's eyes go inwards on the type into the pattern which swirls in further.
