I have a collection of items in a drawer which I keep to inspire me when designing. These are a few examples of items I've collected. A lot of items have pattern on, I collect patterned tissue paper, wrapping paper and cards to use in designs and collages. I have recently started collecting labels and packaging for the layout and typography.
The top images are of a beautiful wedding invitation envelope which was given to my mum it has formal layout, the purple colour adds to the style along with the floral pattern.
The central images are both product packaging which I initially was drawn to because of the pattern. The typography and it's placement enhances the packaging making it more professional. I love the type it is a style I particularly like to create.
The Costa and popcorn packaging I both selected because of the bold modern type style. The costa bag strips back the colour and leave a teal which is soft whilst bold against the white type and not too straining to look at. I like the way the designer has incorporated the angular logo into other parts of the packaging. I also chose this particular packaging because of it's heavy use of illustrator.
