In a recent class we were shown how Cinema 4D can be used for a graphic design outcome. For this we created logos in illustrator, I used a logo a created in my spare time a few weeks back that I didn't know what to do with.
Notes:
Make sure to start the ruler from the centre of the illustrator file before merging it into the Cinema 4D file (Click drag from the top left)
To import the illustrator vector into Cinema 4D the illustrator file must be outline only before going into Cinema 4D and clicking File > Merge
Steps:
Extrude, Fillet Cap, Add Environmemnt, To add colour go to the box at the bottom left of the screen, Tags > Cinema 4D > Tags, Compositing, Mograph > Motext (Adds text box), Mode >View Settings > Shadows, Light layer > General > Shadow Maps Soft.
After the class I wanted to experiment and create something similar to the ITV Rebrand style which was mentioned in the class. I went on to rotate the object so it lay flat on the floor and move the camera and lighting so it captured the letter flatteringly.
