Green Lightbulb

To create this image I used 4 pieces of different images - a tree, a lightbulb, a lightbulb screw and some soil. The tree's leaves were originally orange you can adjust this by hue/saturation or in this case use the overlay tool. In which you paint the colour you want on a different layer on top of the object you are editing and then click the overlay option from the above scroll bar. I've done this because I've found Hue/Saturation often flattens the colour and your image loses the natural tones.

At the beginning I used a mixture of quick selection and magic wand to cut the tree, leaves and light bulb screw away from their original backgrounds. On tougher parts which are lighter and are unrecognized by the computer I'd use the polygonal lasso tool and cut out manually.

After that I used the clone stamp to help merge all the different layers and remove any imperfections. The reflection of the tree in the bulb was created by duplicating the leaves layer, flipping the image and changing the layer opacity. To create a more realistic reflection in the bulb you can warp the image and stretch out parts of the leaves. For the soil at the bottom I cut out part of the image and fitted it into the bulb base.
